'Emily the Strange' Movie to Star Chloe Moretz

Chloe Moretz is having a breakout year. First she starred as the young vigilante Hit-Girl in the superhero movie Kick-Ass. Coming out October 1 is her portrayal of a young vampire girl in Let Me In. She is also currently filming Martin Scorsese's Hugo Cabret. So it should be no surprise that she has plenty of future work piling up for her. The latest announcement is that Moretz will star as the title character in the adaptation of Emily the Strange.

Emily the Strange was created by Rob Reger and his company Cosmic Debris, originally as a marketing tool, and the character was later turned into graphic novels and a series of Dark Horse comic books. Emily is a girl with dark, gothic view on the world. She has been compared to Wednesday Addams. This project is just taking shape, so it will be interesting to see what comes of it.
