Contagion is the thrilling new film about the spread of a global virus. It is the latest work from director Steven Soderbergh, known for movies such as Erin Brockovich, Traffic, and Ocean's Eleven. The all-too-plausible concept is fleshed out in a sprawling Traffic-like film.
The Playlist reports that several actors have joined the already impressive cast. The new additions include Demetri Martin (Taking Woodstock), Jennefer Ehle (The King's Speech), Bryan Cranston (Breaking Bad), and Elliott Gould (the Oceans films, among many others). They are joining the existing cast, which includes Matt Damon, Kate Winslet, Marion Cotillard, Laurence Fishburne, Gwyneth Paltrow, Jude Law, John Hawkes, Chin Han, and Josie Ho.
Contagion begins shooting this month in Hong Kong and Chicago. The film is set to reach theaters on October 21, 2011.
