This teaser trailer for Guillermo del Toro's loose remake of the 1973 made-for-TV movie by the same name, Don't Be Afraid of the Dark, recently aired at Comic-Con. Guillermo del Toro (Pan's Labyrinth, Hellboy) wrote the script, while comic book artist Troy Nixey is directing.
The story follows a young girl (played by Bailee Madison) who discovers creatures that had been living in the basement of the house her father (Guy Pearce) and his girlfriend (Katie Holmes) are renovating. Originally the girl believes the creatures to be friendly, but she soon learns otherwise.
All this lends itself to a pretty creepy trailer, which hopefully bodes well for the rest of the movie, due out January 21, 2011.
