David Slade is in contention to direct the next Wolverine movie. This rumor comes as he enjoys the success of his current summer hit, The Twilight Saga: Eclipse. He also handled some supernatural action in 30 Days of Night in addition to the vampires and werewolves of Eclipse.
Slade is up against Robert Schwentke to direct the sequel to X-Men Origins: Wolverine. Schwentke directed The Time Traveler's Wife, and the new action movie RED.
We think Slade will be the one picked to direct, as he already has action and CGI experience. And werewolves and vampires are kind of like mutants, right? Hugh Jackman will be reprising his role as Wolverine, and they should be starting filming in January 2011.
