Perhaps that's because you can't go wrong with a claustrophobia-meets-horror plot: five people stuck in an elevator, and one of them is Satan. Or perhaps this movie looks good because he had less creative control with this project. The story concept was his, but the script was written by Brian Nelson (30 Days of Night). Shyamalan also didn't cast the actors, and the film was directed by John Erick Dowdle (Quarantine).
It looks good, and it leaves me wanting to see more. I even like the opening text with the upside-down New York City skyline. Let's hope this is the movie to break the mold of this graph (and help us forget about The Last Airbender).
