Happy 6th Birthday Facebook!



They grow up so fast! According to its Info page and Wikipedia, Facebook was started six years ago today, on February 4, 2004.

It has gone through many changes and overhauls since being founded by Mark Zuckerberg, along with Eduardo Saverin, Dustin Moskovitz and Chris Hughes. It was originally called "Thefacebook" and open only to Harvard students. In addition to the name change, it was opened up other universities and then to everyone. It is now the largest social media network in the world.

Now everyone log on at once, so Facebook can crash even more than usual. And while you're there, you can become a fan of Poster Revolution.

Falling Out with Fall Out Boy



The members of Fall Out Boy have confirmed that they are taking a break, a very permanent break. This comes after months of speculation as to the status of the band.

Bassist Pete Wentz confirmed on his blog yesterday "as far as i know fall out boy is on break. (no one wants to say the 'h' word)". Frontman Patrick Stump had an even stronger statement, saying "I'm not in Fall Out Boy." The other members have since issued similar comments as to moving on.

Maybe this means Wentz will be spending more time with his family - wife Ashlee Simpson-Wentz and their one-year-old son. He also recorded a track for the Alice in Wonderland soundtrack with Mark Hoppus of Blink 182. Stump has been working on a solo album.

Razzie Nominations Announced



Coinciding with the announcement of the Oscar nominees, The Golden Raspberry Award Foundation has issued its list of nominations for the Razzies - the worst films of 2009. The most nominated films are Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen and Land of the Lost, each with 7 nominations.

Extended Take Scenes

'Lost' Returns Tonight!



The final season of Lost starts tonight, at 8/7c on ABC! Get ready for another exciting, confusing, time-shifting, season with Jack, Locke, and the rest of the Lost characters.

To help keep track of the Lost timeline, the New York Times has an interesting interactive piece with dates and videos.

The full first episode of season six has been leaked online early, and ABC is busy trying to pull these off as fast as they pop up. Personally, we would prefer to wait until tonight and watch the hi def version, rather than some poor quality bootleg version a few hours early.

Let the confusion commence!

Grammy Awards Recap

Last night at the 52nd annual Grammy Awards it seemed to be all about the ladies. From big winners like Beyoncé and Taylor Swift, to larger than life performances by Lady Gaga and Pink, the focus was on the women.

Beyoncé won six Grammys, setting a Grammy record for most awards won by a female artist on one show. Her wins included Song of the Year for 'Single Ladies (Put a Ring On It)' and Pop Vocal Performance of the Year for 'Halo'. She performed her song 'If I Were a Boy' and Alanis Morisette's 'You Oughta Know'.

Taylor Swift snagged four Grammys, including the coveted Album of the Year award for 'Fearless'. Her live performances included 'Today Was a Fairytale,' and 'Rhiannon' and 'You Belong With Me' in collaboration with the amazing Stevie Nicks.

Lady Gaga also had an unforgettable performance collaboration with Elton John. In a fittingly over-the-top theatrical performance, they did 'Poker Face,' 'Speechless' and 'Your Song.' She also won two Grammys.

The most touching part of the night came with the Michael Jackson tribute. His two oldest children, Prince and Paris Jackson, accepted the award on his behalf with a brief but heartfelt speech. The tribute performance included Usher, Carrie Underwood, Jennifer Hudson, Celine Dion, and Smokey Robinson, as well as a 3D film.
