Video: 'Family Guy: It's a Trap!' Trailer Spoofing 'Star Wars Return of the Jedi'

20th Century Fox released this trailer today for the final chapter in the ongoing Family Guy spoof of the original Star Wars trilogy. It's a Trap!, which parodies Return of the Jedi, is almost an exact remake of the original trailer for the 1983 classic.

It brings back Peter as Han, Chris as Luke, Lois as Leia, and Stewie as Darth Vader. New characters include Joe as Jabba the Hut, Meg as the Sarlacc Pit, as well as characters from The Cleveland Show and American Dad. Also thrown into the mix are Osama bin Laden and some less-than-cute cannibalistic Ewoks.

Princess Leia Admits to Cocaine Use on 'The Empire Strikes Back' Set

In news that comes as a shock to almost no one, actress Carrie Fisher admitted to taking cocaine on the set of The Empire Strikes Back. These ice planet jokes just write themselves. Fisher, who played Princess Leia in the original Star Wars trilogy, said that she didn't even like the drug that much, but was intent on getting high. Her Blues Brothers co-star John Belushi also warned her that her drug habit was out of control. Yeah, it's probably a bad sign when Belushi is the one warning you.

In more positive news, her one-woman show Wishful Drinking, based on her autobiography, will appear on HBO as a feature-length documentary.

'Star Wars' Films in 3-D?

A long time ago, in a 3-D galaxy far, far away... Yes, all six Star Wars films are going to be converted to 3-D and rereleased in theaters. Lucasfilm made the announcement on Wednesday, saying they will be converted and released in order, starting with episode one, The Phantom Menace, and ending with episode 6, Return of the Jedi. Industrial Light & Magic is supervising the conversion process, and promises it will be "cutting edge."

If done right, some of the lightsaber and other fight scenes could be pretty cool in 3-D. Hopefully they will avoid the problems that other film have experienced when converted 2-D to 3-D, most notably Clash of the Titans.

Lucasfilm hopes to have the movies released in theaters in 2012, which will coincide with the 35th anniversary of A New Hope. While we are skeptical of the quality of the 3-D conversion, if anyone will do it right it may be George Lucas and Lucasfilm. Plus what Star Wars fan won't jump at the chance to see all six movies back in theaters?

Video: Silent Star Wars

This video is a silent film rendition of the fight scene between Luke Skywalker and Darth Vader. It features a great stylized look and spot-on dialog text. Extra points for the Star Wars theme on the piano.

Inception Mash-Up Trailers

Inception has led at the box office for the past three weeks. Combine that with an epic trailer, and you get an outpouring of mash-up trailers. Here are some of our favorites.

Up



We love this one. The editing is great, the dialogue syncs up, and it just works. Well done.

Empire Strikes Back



This is another good one. The dialgue matches up pretty well (C3PO helps with the syncing of difficult dialogue too). The snow scenes are also reminiscent of the actual Inception movie.

Toy Story 3



Here is another Pixar movie that works well as a mash-up. Some of the scenes sync up quite well, but the overall editing and visuals aren't quite as good as Up or some of the other mash-ups. It is still well done, and one of the most viewed.

Matrix



What better mash-up than another movie that makes you question reality? Who cares if some of the dialogue doesn't match up, because the action works so well with the epic soundtrack.

The Dark Knight



Ah, a Christopher Nolan vs. Christopher Nolan mash-up! Two of the best parts of this video: Leonardo Dicaprio's voice over Heath Ledger as the Joker, and the Michael Caine syncing from both movies. Now if only we knew if Joseph Gordon-Levitt will actually play the Riddler or not.

Bill and Ted's Excellent Adventure



And for our absolute favorite: Bill and Ted's Excellent Inception! This one inserts dialogue from Bill and Ted as well. Nothing like Keanu Reeves (and Alex Winter) looking confused over and over again. All we can say to this one is "Whoa!"

Video: Improv Everywhere's 'Star Wars' Scene on NYC Subway Car

Improv Everywhere, the group of performers who create scenes in public places, are at it again. This time they brought a scene from Star Wars to a New York City subway car.

The scene, where Princess Leia first interacts with Darth Vader, is reenacted to the amusement of the other riders. "The white walls and sliding doors on the train reminded us of the rebel ship from the movie, and we thought it would be fun to see how people would react to a surprise appearance by the iconic characters," the troop said of the project.

This comes from a long line of fun missions from Improv Everywhere. They also do the No Pants Subway Ride every year, and were responsible for the Ghostbusters scene in the New York Public Library and frozen Grand Central.

In other Star Wars news, Mark Hamill has revealed that he will be appearing a the annual fan convention Celebration V in August. Luke Skywalker will be there to meet fans and sign autographs. He will also be present on the Celebration Stage. This appearance is in addition to the previous announcement that Jon Stewart would be there to interview George Lucas.
