2010 MTV VMA Awards

The 2010 MTV VMA Awards took place in Los Angeles last night. Between her 8 wins (out of 13 nominations) to the talk over her meat dress, it was definitely Lady Gaga's night. Eminem won two of his eight nominations, and gave a solid live performance at the ceremony as well. Ke$ha also opted for the bizarre fashion choice, going with a dress made out of garbage bags. Some of the other performances at the event included Justin Bieber, Usher, Rihanna, Nicki Minaj and will.i.am, Florence + the Machine (our surprise hit from the show), Travis McCoy, Taylor Swift (and no interruptions for her this year!), Drake, Mary J. Blige, Bruno Mars, B.o.B, Paramore, Robyn, Linkin Park, and Kanye West.

Here is the list of winners, with links to the winning videos.

Video: Lady Gaga 'Alejandro' Music Video

Lady Gaga's new video for Alejandro was released today. Directed by artist Steven Klein, it is slightly dark and twisted, as we have come to expect from Lady Gaga. Gaga has also acknowledged that the video has a "homoerotic military theme".

While I don't think the video (or the song for that matter) is as strong as Telephone or Bad Romance, it is still a visually stunning ride. There are definitely some strong influences from Madonna in the song and video, and I think the video also incorporates some Janet Jackson, ala Rythym Nation.

U.S. Soldiers Remake Lady Gaga's 'Telephone'

Sure, everyone with a webcam has made a version of Lady Gaga's 'Telephone'. But we were still very impressed by this one, made by U.S. soldiers in Afghanistan. And considering how this video has been making the rounds, we don't think we are the only ones.

Video: Lady Gaga Telephone music video ft. Beyonce

Lady Gaga's new music video for Telephone was released today. It is a twisted and visually captivated story as only Lady Gaga can provide.

It starts off with Lady Gaga in jail, until Beyoncé bails her out. They end up at a diner, where they poison the patrons. The video ends with the two of them fleeing from the police. The song itself is catchy and fun, and the music video is an interesting story, more short film than traditional music video. It also pays tribute to Quentin Tarantino and Kill Bill. (Side note: Beyoncé looks great with Bettie Page-inspired bangs.)

Here is the video. It's not entirely SFW, but what about Lady Gaga is?
