Filing Under DUH - Ricky Martin is Gay

Ricky Martin, the Puerto Rican pop star who first became famous with his 1999 hit Livin' La Vida Loca, has announced that he is gay. Cue hundreds of "in other news" jokes. He had denied rumors for years, before finally admiting his sexuality on his website yesterday. He says he is "a fortunate homosexual man."

This admission has brought him back into the news, and with that comes a resurgence of his music. We're fine with hearing clips from Livin' La Vida Loca and She Bangs, but we'd better not see one glimpse of William Hung.

Video: 3 New Toy Story 3 Trailers

Disney and Pixar released three new viral trailers for the upcoming Toy Story 3. The first is a play off the recent horror and thriller movies that incorporate "real"/surveillance footage. The second video plays off the topic of growing up, and compares new toys to the old, favorite toys of childhood. The third trailer is a cute video of Buzz and Woody IMing each other.

We liked all three new trailers, and thought the first one was especially clever and well done. This third movie in the Toy Story franchise will be released in theaters on June 18, 2010.

Happy (almost) National Hangover Day!

Ok, so technically New Years Day is National Hangover Day. But today has to be a close second, right?

Admit it, you're feeling the effects of those 10 Jameson shots. In honor our hangovers, we are offering this Hangover movie poster at a ridiculously low price.

This is a lightning deal, and we are starting it at $.01. Yes, a penny.

How do Lightning Deals work?

Every now and then the Poster Revolution team likes to have some fun (nerdy, we-spend-too-much-time-in-the-office fun, that is) so we pick a poster and lower the price to 1 cent!

Now for the fun part - the Lightning Deal price goes UP a tiny bit every time someone makes a purchase.

That means the longer you wait to add an item to your cart the higher the price can go. And like all good things, these deals do sell-out since supplies are limited.

Also note that:
# Once added to your cart, price will be valid until you checkout - unless we sell out.
# Lightning Deals MAY be combined with other items.
# Limit 1 Lightning Deal per order.
# No rain-checks or substitutions.

Video: Lady Gaga Telephone music video ft. Beyonce

Lady Gaga's new music video for Telephone was released today. It is a twisted and visually captivated story as only Lady Gaga can provide.

It starts off with Lady Gaga in jail, until Beyoncé bails her out. They end up at a diner, where they poison the patrons. The video ends with the two of them fleeing from the police. The song itself is catchy and fun, and the music video is an interesting story, more short film than traditional music video. It also pays tribute to Quentin Tarantino and Kill Bill. (Side note: Beyoncé looks great with Bettie Page-inspired bangs.)

Here is the video. It's not entirely SFW, but what about Lady Gaga is?

Video: 2 New Trailers - Iron Man 2 & Tron Legacy

We bring you two great trailers that came out earlier this week: Iron Man 2 and Tron Legacy.

First up is Tron Legacy, which brings updated CGI to some of the concepts from the first Tron movie. There are many recognizable elements that carry over from the first movie, and a dramatic reveal of Jeff Bridges at the end. And who can't get enough of him these days? Joseph Kosinski is making his feature film directorial debut with the movie, while the previous film director, Steven Lisberger, returns as a producer. Jeff Bridges reprises his role as Kevin Flynn, and Bruce Boxleitner his roles as Alan Bradley and Tron, while Garrett Hedlund portrays Flynn's now-adult son, Sam.

The Iron Man 2 trailer shows Robert Downey Jr. at his best - dry humored, narcissistic, and with his cocky swagger in rare form. The new Iron Man suit is also featured in the trailer, and it is shown off in some exciting action scenes. Robert Downey Jr. reprises his role as the inventory and industrialist, Tony Stark, aka Iron Man. He faces the new villain Ivan Vanko, aka Whiplash, played by Mickey Rourke. Gwyneth Paltrow returns as Pepper Potts, and another new character, Natasha Romanoff aka Black Widow is introduced, played by Scarlett Johansson. In the trailer we get a glimpse of Samuel L. Jackson as Nick Fury. Jon Favreau returns as the director.

Let us know what you think of the trailers. Tron Legacy comes out in December 17, 2010, while Iron Man 2 hits theaters May 7, 2010.

2010 Razzies Recap

All day yesterday there was buzz about the Oscars. But there was also coverage for some of the less illustrious movies from the past year. We are, of course, talking about the Razzies, which honors the worst films of the year.

The "winners" were announced this past weekend, and are as follows:

Worst Picture

Worst Actress
Sandra Bullock, All About Steve

Worst Actor(s)
All Three Jonas Brothers, Jonas Brothers: The 3-D Concert Experience

Worst Prequel, Remake, Rip-off or Sequel

It's pretty funny that Sandra Bullock won both a Razzie and an Oscar in the same year. You can find the full list of nominations here.

2010 Oscars Recap

What a night it was for The Hurt Locker! The film won Best Picture and Best Director, along with four other Oscars. Director Kathryn Bigelow was the first female director to win in the Directing category. A lesser known fact was that The Hurt Locker was the lowest-grossing Best Picture award winner.

Other highlights from the evening included Ben Stiller dressed as a character from Avatar. (Some would argue that Avatar getting shut out of the Oscars was another highlight, only winning Art Direction, Cinematography and Visual Effects.) The tribute to John Hughes and his movies was great (video at the bottom). There was also a decent horror film montage.

Oscars Preview

We're not predicting an Avatar win, we just don't have any Hurt Locker posters.

The 2010 Academy Awards are this Sunday, March 7. They are being hosted by Steve Martin and Alec Baldwin. It should be an interesting and entertaining show.

We were disappointed to learn that the Sacha Baron Cohen skit was scrapped for fear it would offend his highness, James Cameron. The skit reportedly involved Baron Cohen as a blue-skinned female Avatar character. Ben Stiller was to translate his speech, to reveal that Baron Cohen is pregnant with Cameron's love child.

You can see all the nominations here. The predictions are as follows:

Alice in Wonderland Opens Tomorrow

Ok, we admit it. We're definitely excited for Tim Burton's Alice in Wonderland, which opens tomorrow. It should be a visually stunning journey, as only Tim Burton can create.

In the film, Alice is now 19 years old and accidentally returns to "Wonderland," a place she previously visited 10 years ago. Alice is played by Mia Wasikowska, Johnny Depp fittingly plays the Mad Hatter, Helena Bonham Carter is the Red Queen, and Anne Hathaway portrays the White Queen.

If you can't wait until tomorrow (or tonight at midnight), Yahoo Movies has a collection of trailers and in-depth looks into the movie.

Let us know in the comments what you think about Alice in Wonderland.

Video: Prince of Persia Trailer

Check out this new trailer for Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time. It shows Jake Gyllenhaal in action in ancient Persia, and explains the plot in a little more depth.

Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time focuses on Dastan (Jake Gyllenhaal), a street urchin in sixth-century Persia. After showing valor in battle, he is adopted by the king as his heir, so the king's two sons will not fight over the throne. He teams up with Princess Tamina (Gemma Arterton) to rescue the Sands of Time, a gift from the gods that controls time, from the hands of the villainous nobleman, Nizam (Ben Kingsley).

The film is based off the Prince of Persia video game series, and is directed by Mike Newell. It will be released in theaters on May 28, 2010.

Video: Art History Crash Course Music Video

We found this music video very amusing. It is for the song 70 Million by the band Hold Your Horses. In the video, they recreate many famous works of art. It starts off with The Last Supper and Starry Night, and ends with Van Gogh's Sunflowers at the end. One of our favorites is of the Marilyn Monroes by Andy Warhol.

How many can you recognize?

Angelina Jolie and Darren Aronofsky To Adapt 'Serena'

Actress Angelina Jolie and director Darren Aronofsky (Pi, Requiem for a Dream, The Wrestler) are in discussions to bring Serena: A Novel to the big screen. They want to adapt the 2008 novel by Ron Rash. The screenplay is written by Chris Kyle (The Weight of Water), and Nick Wechsler (Requiem for a Dream, The Time Traveler's Wife, The Road) is producing.

Serena is a period piece, set in North Carolina in 1929. Jolie would play Serena, the ambitious wife of businessman George Pemberton. When she discovers she cannot bear a child of her own, she sets out to destroy George's illegitimate son.

The flim is already being compared to There Will Be Blood, and the character a modern Lady Macbeth. We think Angeline Jolie will be a great fit in this cunning and ruthless role.
